Goavillas Posted June 12, 2009 Share Posted June 12, 2009 Amigo tu que gostas de som mais pesadinho sem dúvida que é grande malha tal como várias outras de KA-SOL, Battle of the Future Buddhas e por exemplo Toi Doi ou Electrypnose mais antigo ou até mesmo Xenomorph. São tudo bandas com grandes sons nocturnos que passam bem á hora do Dark usual dos dias de hoje e que eu continuo a dizer que de psicadélico têm pouco. É engraçado denotar que a primeira que está pronta a ser ouvida é do álbumde 98 "Twin Sharkfins" o que é bom é para sempre. Tinha uma música que ainda tenho que me esforçar para adquiri-la outra vez pois fiquei sem ela. A "Domestic Bliss", o verdadeiro rapa o tacho dançante. também destes gajos. E já agora neste álbum tem uma das melhores músicas de chill para mim de todos os tempos "marsmelow". (a label do Kiryiama) Ja estive a ouvir o album completo e promete mesmo muito . Esperem para ver E por ultimo tambem o album Kiryiama, que tambem promete muito Goa. boas, eu tambem gosto bastante de ka sol, é bom goa nocturno, tem um estilo muito proprio, algumas influencias de forrest music mas kiryiama?? quais é que são as influencias de goa ali? é por causa destas coisas que eu não me entendo com pessoas como tu... nem é nada de pessoal contra os teus gostos, é o facto de voces teimarem em chamar as coisas pelo que nome vos convem, e não por aquilo que são... ja basta a confusão em que o psytrance está mergulhado, a confusão em que os novos aderentes do trance são obrigados a comer na releases oferecidas hoje em dia e até nas festas como essa tal "back to goa" que goa nem ve-lo... so falta agora virem tornar o Goa naquilo que não é, nem nunca foi... pelo menos parece haver vontade! eu diria mais... agarrando na tua visão daquilo que é ter "influencias de goa" se o que hoje é branco, amanhã afinal for cinzento, certamente no dia aseguir se torna negro! não é uma frase racista... mas no que toca a musica acho que serve bem para exemplificar o caminho por onde estas a ir Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Creio que o forest foi dos poucos que se safou, continuou a evoluir e ainda é editado à grande hoje em dia. Como tem nova produção, o goa que está incluído é muito dissuadido, fica difícil de se reconhecer que estilo é. Mas eu também como só estou habituado a certos registos, forest é uma área em que percebo pouco ou nada. O melhor é perguntares ao xamã cirkus sobre novidades e exemplos de forest, pois nessa área ele é rei. Alias, podes procurar aqui no canto do goa um set de forest mixado por ele. Pelo que me lembro da conversa com o xamã, o Tim Shuldt é que se está a virar muito para o forest. O que tem toda a lógica, pois todos os cd's da Suntrip estão masterizados por ele, assim como 80% do goa que sai à borla (extinta metaphisic records, entre outros releases). Mas se estamos a falar deste http://www.myspace.com/kiriyamamusic É forest sem dúvida. A faixa Demo2 dá para topar bem o goa misturado lá. Quando te referes a goa, goa tem muitos sub-géneros como qualquer outro estilo, deves estar-te a referir ao clássico. Digo-te que nem com a minha colecção de 50 cd's de goa não consigo fazer um set de 2 horas só com o mesmo registo. É muito complicado às vezes reconheceres qual é o registo de cada qual e junta-las todas em 2 horas. Por isso não ouviste Goa na festa, porque para mixa-lo já é um bordel, quanto mais meter faixas que tenham a ver com a anterior. A palavra "goa" serviu para vender muita merda a partir de 2000 (nascimento do full on), ainda hoje em dia saem VA's e festas com o "Goa" no cartaz e que nada de goa têm a ver. Vai-te habituando... Olha sabes bem que a trupe do monhé ainda há-de estar junta muitas mais vezes. eheheh Por mais que som que faças no futuro já provaste que és um senhor no mundo do psy. E para mim as melhores músicas são aquelas mais cósmicas estilo ataraxia...ou southern oracle...Esta mistura de nitzo e goa é boa para o were bear quase de certeza. Eu gosto do rama project....mais um entre vários que nos consegues brindar em tão pouco tempo. Continua e aquele abraço... Até um dia destes. Quando cá vieres apita. Werebear eu sei que o goa tem varias vertentes, conheço as bem... a questão aqui está em saber ver as diferenças entre o Forrest music, e o Goa nocturno.. e a verdade é que o Forrest music apesar de psicadelico, é um estilo bastante mais bastrato e minimalista quando comparado com o goa... a unica coisa que o forrest music tem em comum... é o facto de viver da criação de ambientes organicos, mas até nisso se nota diferença para o goa nocturno e acho que é muito facil distinguir entre o que é goa, Ka sol, UX e outros... e Forrest music, kiryiama, Derangos etc etc.. ambos os estlos psicadelicos, mas com caracteristicas bastante diferentes entre eles e o goa até tem varios subgeneros; acid, floating, melodic, nitzhonot, tribal... essa de dizer que o forrest é a unica evolução do goa que hoje em dia vende e não sei quê, comigo não pega... e se queres que te diga, é uma treta... que essa malta do som mais pesado, que procura muito hoje em dia se "colar ao rotulo" Goa, para terem uma melhor aceitação, e ganharem determinadas reputações etc... enfim, não fazem eles menos do que fizeram as labels de israel de 2000 para cá com as compilações goa nao sei que.. que nada tinham a ver com goa... são tacticas comerciais o Nome Goa é explorado e usado! isso sim... o full on tambem evoluiu a partir do Nizthonot, e nada tem a ver com goa... assim como o Forrest music, por mais que se diga que foi uma evolução do goa, não tem no som, caracteristicas nenhumas de goa trance (ao ponto de até tu afirmares que é dificil de reconhecer que estilo é) o goa é um estilo bastante caracteristico destaca-se facilmelmente em relação ao resto... deixa-os falar e vender o que quizerem... ha de haver sempre labels a editar o veradeiro goa, sejam elas free ou com poucos recursos... tens agora ai o Exemplo da SITA records que via editar seguramente bom material e lançar novos talentos Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ok, estou-te a perceber. Mas como tirando esses, existem muitas outras malhas antigas em que já é difícil perceber... digo por isso. Mas já em tempos antigos a malta fazia esse som tipo derango, kiryiama, ESXS, Gen 6, "Krumelur - A glass of milk", Xenomorph por exemplo. É um estilo em que curto algumas em que se nota mais o goa sim, mas como a definição pra mim tem muito que se lhe diga. Como tanta cena que anda por aí como "novidade" já apanhei projectos similares do tempo da carochinha, as definições para esse estilo nocturno tem muito que se lhe diga a meu ver. Tanto que não me meto por esse mundo. Disse que foi um dos estilos que continuou a produzir, evoluir e vender. No "goa" servir para toda a merda, concordo plenamente. There's a certain mode of thought that's evident in what some users have written here, which, as it were, holds that there's a clear cut line as to what is what. Categorising music isn't always very easy and one should be cautious in applying labels to musicians, for sometimes a musician is modulating between different genres. I've seen a few blokes here talking about my music, for instance, saying that it belongs to that sphere of music or another. For what it's worth, I find such categorisation unnecessary and quite a waste of time. Anyone who's seen me performing this year, for example, is well aware of the fact that the latter part of my set has a strong goa tranceish slant, there even being some tracks who are "pure" goa, if there ever was such a thing. Instead of saying that Joe does that kind of music and Joe doesn't, one could say that Joe's released tracks pertain to certain genres in terms of style. This might be more of a linguistic discussion, yet I believe that it's a valid point which is worth keeping in mind in discussing concepts of genre and categorisation. Moreover, an artist could be flirting stylistically with several genres, too, which is probably more de jure than de facto. Ka-Sol was mentioned as an artist whose style is easy to recognise and categorise. I must say I do wonder, however, if the person, who thinks spotting Ka-Sol's style is easy, has heard tracks such as Earth (off the Docklands - A State of Mind 2 compilation, 99) and compared that one to the melodic tracks off his first piece Fairytale? Whether or not it's easy to place these in the same pigeon hole, I leave that to you guys. Furthermore, I wonder what the people, who readily expose their firm confidence in their own ability to decide whether a track has goa influences or not, base their opinions on. For instance, demo 1 (http://www.myspace.com/kiriyamamusic) progresses in a frygic minor, the old Church mode if you will, that was extensively used and extremely common in the goa trance of the 1990s and still is today (in this case the use of C, Db, Eb [or E for variation], F, G, Ab, Bb, C). The goa influences are there to be discovered by anyone whose mind is open and who's ready to see the influences, whether that means the person has the knowledge in music theory or the ability to draw lines between similarities as to elements in two different tracks. So are you able to spot the other parts on my MySpace that might've been influenced by goa trance? Goa trance comprises much more than Astral Projection. The ones who were there will know. They will be able to feel the energy, the vibes. The others who were content with just buying the greatest hits compilations, let them believe whatever they want... GOAFOREVER Não levantem muitas espectativas nesse ponto Colorbox , sao dois irmaos , um deles tive o prazer de conhecer , o Kenneth , e eles são pessoas com vidas feitas por assim dizer , o Kenneth ja é casado e tem familia. Já não falo com o Kenneth há algum tempo , soube que ele andava a tentar fazer alguma coisa mas quem sabe , um dia ele pode aparecer. Há uma altura nas nossas Vidas em que as nossas familias passam a ter muito mais valor do que tudo o resto no mundo. Não quero que fiquem decepcionados em relaçao a Sita devido a este tipo de espectativas , daí eu decidir responder a este vosso entusiamo (o que é bastante bom!) , mas o que a Sita vai mostrar é uma nova geraçao de som e musica , tanto como ideias e personalidades , porque afinal de contas , ja nao vivemos na decada de 90 , mas sim no ano 2009! Olha eu por exemplo produzo dark e gosto mesmo do genero, por mais que te faça impressao, mas gosto bue de cenas com influencias de Goa, e só por acaso ja vi um bocado mais do mundo para alem de portugal, portanto tenho umas opinioes mais abrangentes nestes assuntos.Tanto que participo neste topico e nao sou um gajo "do goa", e nao venho para aqui dizer que isto ou aquilo nao é goa so porque sim. Quem es tu afinal ? uma opiniao é uma coisa, outra é afirmar peremptoriamente que isto ou aquilo nao é goa e ate gozar um bocadinho. Ate pode nao ser o goa Classico que estas habituado, mas as influencias estao la. Quando disse que o album de kiryiama tem influencias de goa, é porque ja o ouvi e tu nao, porque ainda nao saiu Como é que podes afirmar que nao tem nada a ver com goa se nunca ouviste ? See you guys on the dancefloor tonight! hi the discussion here is not just about styles or goa, it goes much furder... into music concepts, ideals even! no one here said that goa is only astral projection, but you must understand that goa, it has a very solid concept of sound, instruments, composition... a total complete identity... using that concept you can creat sound or music, with many kinds of textures, sounds, melodies even... you may preserv that same identity but if you tune it too much, your getting out from the goa map, your creating a new concept.... thats why psytrance split out into many subgeneres till today! however... that doesnt mean that goa style should change of concept... its very good do creat new music, ist part of evolution, but you should call it new names, creat new styles... otherwise, you will be compromising the other people wich follow older concepts... and talking about goa, if we start calling "neo goa", new influences from goa, or goa to other kinds of music that had nothing about "goa concept"... then your not creating culture, you are destroing it! but in other hand your are right, when you say that people may crossover other styles, however for what i ear from your music, it fits more in forrest music, than in goa trance, that doesnt mean you dont have goa tracks... i only said that based in what i ear from you! like i said, music concepts, and not "style names" every track has his identity, every album his story... the problem is when you start messing out with concepts, and beggin identifing in a wrong way your music... thats why i consider most of "dark" sound in nowadays similar to hard techno... because the concept is almost same! they may act in psytrance parties... they may use hippies cloths... and everthing, but it just dont fit with trance music, for what is his ideals, concepts bla bla bla i hate to repeting my self, but to explain my vision it was needed regards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I shall do my best not to sound like an elitist prick here, but I've been collecting goa trance since the mid 90s, thus I didn't pop up from under a rock in the advent of present day "darkpsy", and I know quite some other producers of "forest" (or whatever term you prefer, to me it's all a matter of redundancy) who've been part of this "scene" since the goa days. I might've misinterpreted you, but the way I conceive of the point that you're trying to make, it sounds like you were dancing while X-Dream recorded their classic The 5th Dimension in Paris in 1993 and fell in love with goa trance whereupon your strong predilection for this music made you unable to accept anything that was inspired by goa simply because it wasn't goa trance the way you conceived of it. its very good do creat new music, ist part of evolution, but you should call it new names, creat new styles... otherwise, you will be compromising the other people wich follow older concepts... and talking about goa, if we start calling "neo goa", new influences from goa, or goa to other kinds of music that had nothing about "goa concept"... then your not creating culture, you are destroing it! I shall like to think that the above is somewhat contradictory. First, you say that we shall create new styles and give them new names - it's all part of the evolution - but we musn't use terms as "neo goa" or anything that might give hints as to there being influences from goa or similar elements having been borrowed. How about some consistency? And whose concept am I destroying when I'm saying that my current music is inspired by the music that once pushed me over the edge into a sea of blissful colours 15 years ago? There's no singular thing such as the goa concept. Everyone had fun in the 90s, I promise, but everyone had his or her version of what goa was to them, the concept, the culture, the scene, which includes the music. When you get on your high horse and tell someone that this or that is truly goa, for you know what true goa trance is, you might actually be preaching to someone who also was there attending that X-Dream show in Paris in 1993. We have neo-metal, neo-punk and whatnot, so why not neo-goa? I don't really care because I'm not a fan of labelling music. Listen to it, enjoy it. If someone says he or she was inspired by goa trance, that might very well be the case. Goa was a lot more than TR-909s, out-of-sync 303s, Juno-106 basslines, Roland Space Echos, and out-of-tune analogue synhesisers... thats why i consider most of "dark" sound in nowadays similar to hard techno... because the concept is almost same! they may act in psytrance parties... they may use hippies cloths... and everthing, but it just dont fit with trance music, for what is his ideals, concepts bla bla bla I might add that "darkpsy" in general bores me to death nowadays and I'm so tired of going to parties where only "darkpsy" is being played. However, coming down on the people who like darkpsy, saying that "they" don't fit with "trance music" - I mean, come on. Who gave you the right to say who's welcome and not? They're dancing, altering states of mind, getting high on the music just like you do when you dance to goa trance. I'm sorry but I can't help but think of all the emo kids out there arguing who's the most "true" emo kid out there with the proper haircut, the cheapest shoes, the most sombre music and most scars on his or her arm. I must say, however, that I think I understand you when it comes to ideals. When I started to go to parties everyone trekked into the forest and stayed out in the wild for at least a couple of days, like a family. Some people did the decoration, some took care of the food, some gathered wood, some made music and set up the stage - everyone pitched in to create something bigger - a community experience. People were introduced to acid as if taking it were a true ritual (which I still think it is) whereas today a lot of people take it to "have some fun on the weekend", like people usually work their asses off in the week and then get drunk out of their tits on the weekends. That's my concept of the scene. It's changed, though, and I think you agree with me in that things are different now compared to the past. The difference is that some of us have accepted the change without coming down on the new heads for not staying "true" to the scene we once knew, whereas some others have gone up on their war horse, readily giving vents to their emotions as to what's right and not. I wish I could bring back the scene of the vivid 90s, but I can't and it won't do any good telling new heads that they're destroying what I once fell in love with. We're all getting older and it sucks, but it's reality. There'll always be an influx of new heads and we can't treat them in an elitist's way, but instead try to make an example - Be the change you want to see in the world, Ghandi said. Quanto ao resto eu vou falando com ele e quem sabe que alguma coisa deles caia na Sita...
