”The Skeleton Key” SinopseNova Orleães, Caroline (Kate Hudson) é uma jovem enfermeira que, farta de trabalhar num hospital onde os doentes são apenas números, decide responder a um anúncio que solicita uma enfermeira particular a fim de cuidar de um idoso. Esse anúncio leva-a a uma velha mansão colonial onde habitam um casal, os Devereaux. Violet, a esposa, necessita dos serviços de uma enfermeira para tratar do seu marido, Ben (John Hurt), que se encontra em estado de total letargia, por ter sofrido recentemente um AVC. Todo este processo de contratação é levado a cabo pelo advogado dos Devereaux, que demonstrando uma grande simpatia, a convence a aceitar aquele emprego. No primeiro dia, Violet entrega a Caroline uma chave mestra que, supostamente, deveria abrir qualquer porta da casa, no entanto e após se deslocar ao sótão para ir buscar algo, Caroline depara-se com estranhos sons vindos detrás de uma porta camuflada por alguns objectos e, curiosa, dá-se conta que essa tal chave não abre essa misteriosa porta. A partir daí começam a suceder uma série de estranhos acontecimentos, sobretudo com Ben, que, através do olhar, demonstra uma angústia tal que leva Caroline a suspeitar que aquela casa encerra em si algo de misterioso, algo que é conhecido e temido por Ben e Violet. A investigação leva-a a entrar num mundo místico de superstições seculares que marcam indelevelmente a velha cidade de Nova Orleães, cidade cujos habitantes, na sua maioria, descendem de escravos africanos que trouxeram para a América toda uma série de superstições e cultos ligados ao voodoo e hoodoo, e é precisamente nesse mundo que o argumento do filme mergulha. Um filme que joga também com a própria superstição do espectador. Ou seja, sei que essas tradições mágicas do voodoo e hoodoo tem milhares de seguidores e outros tantos crentes. O filme é bastante real, pois engloba encantamentos supostamente poderosos e os próprios rituais, logo, admito que possa criar um maior impacto a quem acreditar nesse género de magias. As interpretações estão muito bem conseguidas, principalmente a de Gena Rowlands (Violet), que, quanto a mim, tem um grande desempenho. Do mesmo realizador do assustador “The Ring”, este é um filme algo diferente, não só ao nível do trama e do ambiente, mas principalmente no segredo do filme que nos é oferecido no seu final. Completamente imprevisível, pelo menos eu não estava à espera de um fim daqueles, e fiquei positivamente surpreendida.
