As such, it’s a damn big deal when the tech-wizards behind the Pioneer Pro DJ brand come out with a new model that will surely take over many a DJ booth. That’s just what happened overnight, as Pioneer took its new babies – the CDJ-2000 as well as the new CDJ-900 – out to the public, and they look great. How great? The most immediate thing one will notice about the brand new ‘2000s is the presence of its luminous 6.1 inch LCD screen, which will display song titles, wave forms and art and much more. There’s also the inclusion some brand new USB connectivity, allowing DJs to ditch the record bag for a simple external hard drive. Yep, it’s very much a digital beast, reflecting the uptake of digital-files over traditional media. The new system also supporting playback of MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF file types. Nice, right?
