Diogo Ribeiro
Along with Andy Kaufman and Steven Wright, Bill Hicks is one of the most redeeming factors of American comedy. Forget about your John Belushi's or Tim Allen's or Robin Williams, Hicks was the real deal and angry, sensitive, rip-roaringly funny, acerbic comedic talent of epic proportions. Hicks was no-holds barred comedy, trampling upon his audience with a barage of put-downs and come-back lines. Where as most comedians stop at the punchline, Hicks went that one step further and punched the punchline. A man full of contradictions: loved his mum and pap, but ruthlessly satirised them in his stand-ups; was full of venom and bile on stage, but was achingly sensitive and caring off; In short Hicks was a maestro. Revel in an all-out comedic assault and maybe you might get on the space ships too. IMDb Blurbs: “An inspired and inspiring truth teller, dangerous and brave and scary all at once.” – Richard Pryor “Hicks’s stand-up act is about taking a stand – and occasionally dodging a chair.” – Rolling Stone “Savage, brilliant, funny, tremendously intelligent.” – John Cleese “He never disappointed.” – David Letterman “Bill Hicks–blowtorch, excavator, truth-sayer, and brain specialist, like a reverend waving a gun around. He will correct your vision. Others will drive on the road he built.” – Tom Waits “Bill Hicks is as American as Apple Pie a la cyanide. Love him or leave him, but listen to him.” – San Francisco Chronicle “He was hilarious, brilliant, brave, and right about everything.” – Henry Rollins “Bill was right up there with Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. He was easily the best comic of my generation.” – Brett Butler “One of the best comedians in the world: a discernable point of view, gread mind, attitude – the whole bag. He works completely for me. He was a genius. He was one of the five best comics I’ve ever seen in my life.” – Dennis Miller “With his clarity of vision and gift of words, if Bill Hicks had had any more time, he might have started a revolution.” – Keith Olbermann “...an incisive young comedian seen at the top of his form, on his home turf, in a jam-packed set of his best material... [sane Man is] simply the funniest video on earth.” – Austin Chronicle “Being a genius is a heavy burden, and he’s the only one I’m ever likely to meet.” – Sean Hughes “A uniquely passionate talent.” – The Independent “Hicks is sensational ...it’s audacious, angry stuff.” – The Sunday Times “Hicks displays a rare gift of extracting informed humor from randomly assembled streams of bemused observation.” – NME http://soundcloud.com/diogo-ribeiro/diogo-ribeiro-folimat (24 Hours, Flow, Baroque, Tribal Vison) http://www.flow-bookings.com Diogo Ribeiro @ Sound Cloud

Diogo Ribeiro
tive as ver algumas cenas do Lenny Bruce, o gajo é irlandês?

Natti
The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say 'Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.' And we...kill those people. Ha ha ha. 'Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and family. This just has to be real.' It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because: it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings, and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourselves off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what you can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defence each year, and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace. Bill Hicks I'm on a mission!

freeK
